METEOROLOGICAL.

By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, December 7.

The following is the Rev. D. C. Bates' summary and forecast:—The weather has continued fine, warm and hum id* over the North Island, but considerable rain has fallen on the West Coast of the Souch Island, and some showws in the extreme south. The barometer has fallen in the Southern districts, but there has been little movement generally. The present indications are for unsettled weather everywhere, with strong northerly and high easterly winds, especially about Cook Strait, and a falling barometer everywhere. More rough westerly weather is probable before the definite change to the South takes place, and this may now be expected after about thirty hours.
