HIGH COMMISSIONER'S CABLE. The Com nerce and Tourists Division has received the following cable from the High Commissioner, dated London, 3rd inst. "The wool sales closed very firm except for heavy merinos. There was a brisk demand for all lots sold; the Continent bought largely. Market prospects are favourable. Estimated closing values as follows: —Superior merino, Is Id to Is 3d; medium merinos, 10J 1 to Is OJd; inferior merinos, 8d lo lOd; fine crossbreds, la 21 to Is 4d; medium crcissbrer's. 11J-1 t:> Is 3d; coarse crossbred?, 10c! to Is.
