WAITAK\ RACES. By Telegraph—Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, December 2. The Waitara races were held today, in beautiful weather. The totalisator handled £2,595, an increase of £2OO on last year. Five bookmakers were licensed. Results: —
Handicap Hurdles, about one mile and a half.—Golden Glow 1, Drudgery 2, Taupo 3, Also started.— Recreation, Hydraulic, Utiku, Linda Lass, Gunstock, Won by two lengths. Time, 2min 54sec. Maiden Plate, about one mile.— Ambergris 1, Lady Lupin 2. Marshall 3. Also started.—Otehau, Prancer, The Vetcrin. Won by fifteen lengths. Tima, lmin 46secs. Lepperton Stakes, five furlongs.— Te Roti 1, Valentine 2, Tsushima 3. Also started.—Pauline Bell, St. Prior, Solemn. Won by a length. Time, lmin S^l-Ssee.
Waitara Cup. about a mile and a quarter.—Tam Glen 1, Timothy 2, Starboard. Also started—Mallet, Anemone, Rohepotae, Royal Youngster. Won by two lengths. Time, 2min 13 2-sesc.
Dominion Handicap, about one mile. —Loch Guard 1, Spontaneous 2, Forward 3. Also strated—Kairoa, Toyoraaru, Life, Miss Park. Won by a good length. Forward was close up. Time, 1 min 52 2-ssec. Welter Handicap, seven furlongs. —Dr Shimose 1, Overdraft 2, Highden 3. Also started.—Shining Star, Bay Paul. Won by threequarters of a length, Highden a length and a half away. Time, lmin 35sec. Clifton Stakes, four furlongs.— Lady Heroine 1, Golden Dream 2, St. Arra 3. Also started—Hine Koringi, Solemn. Cochrane got a flyin start on Lady Henine, Hine Koringi being left at the post. Won fairly easily by three lengths. Time, 51sec. Flying Handicap, six furlongs.— Dr Shimose 1, Kaiwaka 2, Sandy Paul 3. Only starters. Won easily, lime, lmin 16 4-ssec.
RANUiriKEI NOMINATIONS. Nominations for all events to be run at the Rangitikei Racing Club's summer meeting on January Ist and 2nd will close with the secretary, Mr H. A. Goodall, Bulls, at 9 o'clock to-night. ASHHUKST NOMINATIONS. Nominations for all events and final payment for the 1909 Guineas to be run at the Ashhurst-Pohangina Racing Club's annual meeting on Wednesday, December 29th, will close with the secretary, Mr A. W. Trass, Ashhurst, at 9 p.m. tonight.
MANAWATU NOMINATIONS. Nominal ions for all events except the classic races to be run at the Manawatu Racing Club's Christmas meeting will close with the secretary, Mr J. M. Johnston, Paimerston North, to - night. The second forfeit of five pounds for the second Manawatu Sires Produce Stakes are due at the same time.
