WOOL SALES.

By Telegraph—Press Association. NAPIER, December 1. The second of the present season's wool sales was held in Napier on Tuesday, and realised the expectations of keen competition and good prices. The catalogues totalled 12,700 bales and only a few lots were passed in. The prices realised at the last sales were more than maintained. The only lots that fetched low prices were some of the smaller ones that were badly got up. The wool generally was splendidly grown, very bright and in fine condition. The following are prices realised in comparison with those got on tha 10th inst.:—Halfbred, 12d to 14|d; fine and halfbreds, 13£ dto 14Jd (last sale 12d to 13d); medium crossbred, 11 Jd to 13d (last sale 11(1 to 12d); medium crossbreds, ordinary lots, 9Jd to lid (last sale 9d to lOd); coarse crossbred 91d to lid (last sale 9d to lOd); coarse crossbreds, ordinary lots 8d to 9£d (last sale 7£d to 8|d); dingy and inferior crossbreds, 7£d to B£d (last sale 7d to 8d); good bulky pieces, 7Jd to 8d (last sale 7d to 7|d); inferior pieces and bellies, 6£d to 7d (last sale 6d to 6Jd); locks, 3|d to 4d; lambs, 9d to 9£d for fair quality. AUCKLAND, November 30.

The second wool sale of the season opened at Auckland on Tuesday morning, very strong. A total of 12,700 bales was catalogued. The attendance of buyers represented very section of the trade. Competition was exceedingly keen. The wool for the most part was well-groomed and in splendid condition, but some small lots were badly classed, and suffered in consequence. The morning sales showed a general rise for alljwools suitable for America of a penny, as compared with the first sal 6, and of from Jd to |d for lots taken by Bradford, Continental and other buyers. The morning sales included:—Half bred, uptol4d; crossbred, fine, to 13fd; medium, to 12d; coarse, to lOJd; pieces, to8d; bellies, 7d; locks, 4d; c ossbred, dead, 7d; lambs, 9Jd.
