FINAL CONTEST. EASY WIN FOR AUSTRALASIA United Press Association—Electric Telegraph Copyright, Received November 30, 8.20 p.m. SYDNEY, November 30. Though robbed of interest the final contest for the Davis Cup was largely attended. The weather was warm. McLaughlin won the first set from. Wilding, who did not thow form till the third set. The American played himself to a finish in the firat two sets giving a display of beautiful tennis. Wilding then asserted himself, and won the rest easily:—3—6, B—6, 6-2, 6—3, Long had Brookes going hard all through, but the Vintorian always had something left when the American tired. He started the first set with a couple of games lead, and kept going strong till the score was four all. Then Brookes won the next two. In the next set the American won the first three games, and with five all the Victorian added the next two. In the concluding set Long played up splendidly, and the scorts stood six all before Brookes asserted himself. The scores were: —6—4, 7-5, 8-6.
