WELLINGTON LAND BOARD.
The Wellington District Land Board held its monthly meeting or. Thursday., Mr J Mackenzie, Commissioner, presided, the other members present being Messrs J. Dawson and H. T. Ellinnham.
Transfers were approved as follows, subject to the usual conditions being observed and the ranger's re ports satisfactory:-Sections 10 and 11, block 1, Mangahao, R. M. Huley to R. H. Brown: sections 18 and 19, block 7, Tiriraukawa, Mrs J. M. Rowling to H. McGutchen. Titles and conversions were approved as follow:—Titles— Sections 4 and 7, blocks 4 and 6 Waiohine, J. Waterson, junr.; section 2, block 3, Mt. Cerberu?, D. Peck. Con. version —Sections 10 and 27, blocks 9 and 5, Huangar.ua, W. J. Sparks. Applications to transfer are to bjj recommended for approval as foliows: Section 13, blocks 11 and 15, Mangaone, from Wm. Nation to Mrs M. C. Percy; section 5, block 13, Huangarua, N. Lowe to E. A. Niiir. The ranger is to furnish a report on an application by F. G. Beaven to transfer section 4, block 5, Kuahine, to Messrs C. B. Allen and E. C. Kobinson.
Mr F. Woods epplied to transfer section 84, block 1, Makuri, ramarama Village Settlement, to Mrs M. Crudon.—To be informed t'iat there was no power to approve of the application, as married women were barred from becoming tranferees in this settlement.
An application by Mrs M. A. McKay to sub-lease 26 acres of section 3, block 5, Mt. Cerberus, to Mr W Gosling for sawmill purposes for a term of &ix years with right of renewal for an additional six years was approved.
0. E. Farrelly applied to sub-let section 13, block 14, Mangahao, to Mr J. H. Walsh, the present lessee of section 43, Pahiatua village settlement, and section 94, Mangaiamarama village settlement, for a term of at an annual rental of £IOO. -Approved on the usual ccn dition, subject to the ranger's report, w approval tu take effect when the transfers oi his present holdings have been registered in the Land Transfer Office. A lease of grazing rights over section 15, block 7, Makuri, f:o.n A. S. Simpson to A. Pond, for a term of five years, was approved as a sub-lease on the UtU.U conditions. An application by Robert Parker ( t> subdivide section y, block 4, Mcunt Cerberus, and to transer some 3 acres to the Wellington Education Board for a school site was approved on the usual conditions. G. H. Priest, lessee of section! 21, block 6, Makuri, was granted ur.til the end of January to take up his residence on the section. William Hyde, lessee of section 30, bl;ck 13, Ohinewairua, was granted three months' extension of time to enable him to reside. D. O'Shen, lessee of se:tion 2, block 1, Hunua, and F. West, sectun 6, block 15, Mak\ui, are to be informed that they must take up bona ride residence within three months on t'neir respective holdings. The proposals of the Featherston County Council for the expenditure of thirds accrued on sections 25 an 1 26, blocks 4 and 8, Kaiwaka, weie approved.
