(From Oar Resident Reporter) | ' | The Miramar Fireworks, which are Under the direction of Mr J. Hopkins, have>ttracted crowded attendances wherever they have shown along the line. On Monday evening a display will be given in Mr Geo. Oxley's padlock at the southern end of the town, and a large number of spectators is anticipated, a 9 the people of Dannevirke and WoodviHe speak very highly of the display given in their •towns. A special item is the swinging of fire clubs by Flaraos. The Pahiatua Brass Band will inarch from the Post Office to the ground starting at 7.30 p.m., and wMI render selections during the evening. A charge of Is admission and 6d for t-hiSrden will be made.
A special meeting jf the local Chamber of Commerce will be held this evaniug, when no doubt the important f>nd much discussed propisad al'eratJon to the railway timatable will be further discussed. On payinz a visit to Mr Frank Gannaway's "Star" luncheon roams and fish depot, this morning, I found everything neal; and clean. Travellers by the evening trail from the Wairarapa will be pleased to know that they will be able to secure a iish or ham and eggs supper on their arrival in JPahiatua.
