Sir, -In your paper of 19th there ; appear* a report of the Church of England Conference at Maaterton, and in an adjoining column I notice reference to a clergyman's rstate of £43,363 and lately I have noted some five times larger. "Be ye doers of the word" is a well-known text as well as Matt. 10c —9v, Matt. 39c—21v» Rev. 3c—lv. What the "Church really wants is example instead of precept.—l am, etc..' A C.E. LAY MEMBER.
