Lord Crewe, replying in the House of Lords to Lord Ampthill, formerly Governor of Madras, ard Acting Viceroy of India, regarding British Indians in the Transvaal, said Ministers in the Transvaal were willing rf opportunity offered, to repeal No. 2 Act of 1907.

Regarding the theoretical grievance, added the Colonial Secretary, he thought his Majesty's subjects ought to have free access to all his dominions. Signs of a movement in that direction in the dominions were not apparent, hut there rather seemed to be a hard ning in tne other direction. He honed that the South African Union Parliament would take a broad view of the matter.
