i r Mr Alfred Reese, of Pahiatua, was admitted into a private hospital in Wellington on Tuesday. He is seriously ill. Mr J. C. Williamson has secured Mifld Rosina Buckman, the young JNfw Z* aland vocalist, for the Royal Comic Opera Company. Miss Buckroan will mnke her first appearance with Mr Williamson's organisation at Melbourne next Saturday evening, in "The Lady Dandies." Mr F. W. Car«y, manager for the Masterton branch of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Aerency Co., Ltd., who has been absent from Masterton for some weeks on a health recruiting trip, has returned much benefited by the change.
