They would have to cope with the Lords, also with the ladies. Tnis remark was received with laughter, the Minister having just been assaulted by a Suffragette at the railway station. As regards the Budget, Mr Church» ill expressed defiance of the Lords and confidence in the people. He de clared that the former were offering battle on the worst possible ground for themselves.
