ST. JOHN AMBULANCE.
DISTRICT NURSE BAZAAR. . A well attended meeting of the General Committee of the St. John Ambulance Association's Bazaar wjs held in the Dominion Hall last night. Mr John Hunter (Vice-President) was in the chair. Reports received from the several sub-committees snowed that the preliminaries in connection with the proposed Bazaar to be held in the Town Hall and Drill Shed during Masterton Show week were well advanced, an I the Hit holders reported that they had received satisfactory responses from all those who had been asked for subscriptions, etc The secretary reported that Mr Gerald G. Branson was -willing to take charge of the.entertainments in the Town Hall at a small remuneration. It was unanimously decided that it be a recommendation to the Entertainment Committee that Mr Branson"s services be secured for Bazaar week to work in conjunction with the Entertainment Committee. It was unanimously decided that the very Rev. Dean McKenna be added to the Entertainment Committee. It j was unanimously decided that the | Bazaar be opened on the Monday I night, and continued to the following Saturday night of Show week. The secretary was instructed to write ta Her Excellency Lady Plunket re the official opening of the Basilar Mr L. H. Lewis read the repnrt of the social held on Ist July, which showed a ore Jit balance of £2l 6s lid. The meeting troughout was very enthusiastic, and it is contemplated that the proposed Bazaar will be one of the biggest yet held in the district.
