AUSTRALIAN OBSERVATORY.
FEDERAL GOVERNMENT'S SCHEME.
Received November"9, 10.30 a.m. MELBOURNE, .November 9. The Federal Cabinet has approved a scheme for submission to Parliament for the maintenance of a solar observatory. The Premier, Mr Deakin, states that the conbtruction and equipnent of the observatory will est about £50,000 and he considered it probable that one or more weiW'y Australians would undertake this cost.
