SALARIES OF BANK CLERKS.
•By Telegraph—Press Association. $ AUCKLAND, November 9. Lncal bank managers characters e the complaints of several local bank clerks as to small salaries and long hours as'too ridiculous to answer. "Most of the men are satisfied with their conditions," remarked one manager. "But, as in every other industry or business, there is always a certain dissatisfied section which is always trying to stir up strife." "The statement that men whose hearts are bigger than their purses /have \Q leave if they are getting kis than £2OO per year and want to get married is tod foolish for words," said another local bank manager. "Instead of their hearts being bigger than their salaries are bigger than their brains. Any person gifted with any common sense at all must know that it is>bsolutely impossible for a bank clerk to marry on less than £2OO per year and at the same time try to keep up his position."
