METHODIST SUNDAY SCHOOL.
The annual public meeting of the Ma3terton Methodist Sunday. School was held in the Methodist Church last evening. There was a very large attendance. Mr C. E. Daniell, the Superintendent occupying the chair. The first item in the programme was a hymn by the full choir, which was followed by a short prayer by Kev. C. E. Porter. Ihe next item was a duet by Misses G. Church and 0. Sutherland, "Bear to the Heart is the Shephsrd." The annual report of the secretary was read by Miss W. Daniell, in the ab sence of the secretary, Mr Mclver. The report of the treasurer, Mr Heyhoe, was also read. ~ The presentation of certificates and prizes to the children who had been succe;sful in the W.■ llington Sunday School examinations were then made by Mr C E. Da u\\ as follows:-Misses E.Mariley wl.o gained 84 marks, per cent .certificate and prize. Leia Porte*-, with 90 per cent. Certificate aid prze. Harriett Brooks, 62 per cent., certificate. Elsie King, 58 per cent, certificate. Doris Madl.-y, 53 per cint , certificate. Bertha Cress, certificate. Chrissie McMaster, certificate. At the conclusion of the presentations another hymn was rendered by the choir.
Recitations were given by the fol lowing:—Misses L. Gaughley, G. Morris, M. Oatier, L. Pember, 0. Cross, C. McMaster, L. Porter, M. Payne, M. Pragnell, Williams, V. Knowles, P. Falloon and Masters W Morris, J. McMaster, H. Porter. A dialogue was also given by MLsas Marjory Daniell and Doris Boilings. A solo was sung by Master Ivan Sutherland, and a hymn, "Just a Little Pansy," by ten little girls. I A short address was given by the Rev. C. E. Pacter.
A vote of thanks was passed to all the woikers who had assisted in mak • ing the meeting auch a success, and also to Mr S..H. Ralph, who trained the children, and U the members of the orchestra.
