CRICKET.
Though the projected visit of an Australian cricket team to New Zealand, leaving Sydney at the conclusion of the New South Wales v. Vic toria match on January 26th. is practically certain, it will not be formally ratified, until the Board of Control meets on the return of the Australian team. The season is sure to bring to the front a few young cricketers. Among those who must be in the running for placps if available are J. C. Barnes, E. P. Waddy, G. it. Gorry, A. Diamond, C. Gregory, and C. Kelleway; among inter State ' players, and W. J. Stack and H. L. Collins, among others (N.S. Wales) N. Dodds and R. Hawson (Tasmania), G. Hazlitt, E V. Carroll. D. Smith, L. P. Vernon, F. B. Collins, C. McKenzie, (Victoria) E. R. ' Mayne, D. R. A. Gehra, C. E. Polling, J. H. Pellow, L. R. Hill, and A. Wright (S.A.), F. Parker (W.A.), C. E. Simpson, W. B. Hayes and S. J. Redgrave (Queenland). The following will represent S. Matthew's against S. Augustine's (Petone), at Masterton. on November 9th.:—L. Boyd, W. Boyd, V. Sutton, C. Cdle, F. Dixon, F. Madsen, W.
