TROUBLE OVER THE HOT TAX
NATIVES RESTLESS

The Maritzburg correspondent of "The Times" states that the young men in certain districts of Zululand are reported to be restless and disaffected over the metnods of collecting the hut tax. It is alleged that arbitrary fines are imposed in cases of arrears, The Native Department is unaware of these alleged grievances.
