THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES.

Another large audience assembled at the Foresters' Hall, last evening, when Messrs Thompson and Payne again presented their excellent programme of cinematographic pictures. These exhibitions are meeting with great popularity, and will no doubt become a regular feature in the routine of life in Masterton. The performances already given have proved that Messrs Thompson and Payne are determined to do their best for the patrons of these entertainments. Hie pictures that have been produced so far are of a very high standard, and there is an entire absence of that irritatir.e flicker so often met with in this class of entertainment. The building being splendidly lighted both inside and out with electricity gives everything an attractive and pleasing appearance. The public taste is arranged to suit all classes. Lovers of drama have some first-class subjects in "The Little Shepherd/"' "An 111 Wind." "The Vulture oE Sierra," and the "Pony Express," the-latter being a very line piece of cinematograph. The also takes those inclined toward scenic studies through the beautiful "Park of Caserla" in Italy, and shows the noble statuary and fountains in a most realistic manner, "l'erina," in the marshes of Buffaloes in America gives a good idea of.that quaint city and doings. The comic element is in great force, and the hearty laughter heard nigl.tly gives ample proof of their capabilities as subjects to drive away dull care. The chief picture in this line is one entitled"lnvi>ibility," and the man who can make himself invisible at will goes through his antics in an amusing and astonishing manner. A good lot of miscellaneous pictures make up a programme which should not be missed. The performance is greatly enhanced by the spenlid music incidental to the pictures. It is to be hoped that the public of Masterton will appreciate the efforts of the enterprising entrepeneurs to give them a first class entertainment at popular prices.
