The sum of forty millions sterling has been spent in restoring San Francisco, after the u destruction of the city by earthquake and (ire in April, 1906. At noon to-day throughout the
United States all trains will halt, industries will be stopped, and millions of school children will cheer bimultaneously, on the occasion of President Taft proposing the health of the new city.
/ The festivities m connection with the formal restoration of the city will last five days. Twenty-five nations are represented.
