HALLEY'S COMET.
PHOTOGRAPHED AT MEANEE OBSERVATORY.
By Telegraph—Press Association. NAPIEK, October. 19;-: Halley's comet was photographed last Thursday at Meaneu Observatory. The impression, however, was so extremely faint that its discovery waa not made public. This (Tuesday) morning another attempt was made, increasing the exposure from , one and a half to two and a half hours. This time the comet is clearly defined on the negative. Some time will elapse before the comet is visible through even the largest telescope. The exposure this morning began at a quarter past one o'clock. and ended at a quarter to four, when the near approach of dawn rendered further work impossible.
