From Our Resident ReporterMonday. The • Cemetery Trustees met on Saturday "afternoon,' Mr, W. J. Lindop presiding. A credit balance of £4 12s 7d was reported. It was resolved to notify the Borough Council that they had no power to use the Cemetery Trustees' Funds for payment for interments of paupers. It was decided to meet at the Cemetery on Wednesday to decide upon some scheme for clearing the grounds of noxious weeds.
Mr J. Compton has donated 10a 6d to the funds of the Clareville Tennis Club. The courts were opened last week.
The newly-appointed home agent for,the National Dairy Association (Mr Ellison) is expected to visit Carterton shortly. The Dalefield Dairy Factory is at present receiving 5,080 gallons of milk, wich is a large increase on last year. The highest supply last year was 5,020 gallons. At Belvedere the present supply is 2,600 gallons, 600 gallons in excess of the amount received during the corresponding time last year.
