A GIRL SHOT DEAD.
MURDERER ESCAPES
By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, October 18. A shooting fatality late to-night.
A man named Roberts went to a fish-shop in Manchester street and asked to see a girl named Alice Newman, employed in the establishment. Roberts followed her up to her room, and then shot her through the hear), afterwards making his escape. The girl was killed instantaneously. The body was taken to the morgue. The police are searching for the man.
