CHRISTCHUKCH, October 16.
Captain Allsop, of the steamer Ripple, which returned to Lyttelton from the Chatham Islands,, last night, states that there were no- signs of of the missing tug Duco at the Islands. Within a hundred miles of the Islands, on the way down, the steamer passed a man's, cap floating in the water. The cap had a badge, and was evidently an "officer's cap.
