PALMERSTON N WOOL AND SKIN SALES.

Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report as follows on -their Palmerston North wool, skin and hide sale:—We held our monthly sals today, and submitted a catalogue of 62 bales and bags of wool, 1,400 aheep&kins, 1,300 calfskins, 250 laige hides, and the usual quantites of tallow, hair arid tails. Buyers were well represented, and bidding throughout was most spirited, and the prices compared favourably with late rates. We quote:—Wool.—Kine Romney, 9d; crossbred medium to fine, 7JdtoßJd; dead, 6£d, 7£d to 7|d; bhek, 5Jd; lambs, 6Jd;crutchings, 4£dto6d; bellies and pieces 5Jd to s£d; locks and pieces, 2£d tu j 5Jd. Skins.—Crossbred fine 6d, 6Jd, j 7Jd, 73d to 82d; medium, s£u, 6Jd, j to 7£d; inferior, 4|d to 6Jd; dead, 4Jd, 5Jd, 6i to 6Jd; dead hoggets, i fid; lambs, 7d; black, s£d; quarter pelts,-4£d; butchers' skins, \ at per piece, crossbred medium to fine I 7s, 8s 3d, 8s 4d; crossbred medium, 5s sd, 6s 2d, 6a 7d, 7s 2d; inferior, 3s lOd to 5s sd; lambs, Is Id; pelts, 1«,7d; green, 3s lOd; dead, 3s 3d, 5s 7d to 7s 2d; salted, 2s Bd. Calfskins.—The best price of thebaic for calfskins was IOJd per lb, which is equal to 4s 3d for a 51b skin. Heavier calfskins realised 5s 6d to 7s 7d each. Hides: Ox heavy, 6£dto6gd; medium, 6£d to 6£d; light, s|d to 6d; cows heavy, 5Jd to s|d to 6d: medum, sgd to 6d; light, sd, s£dlos£d; cows cut and slippy, 3£d to 4£d to sd; heifers, s£d to 6d; steers, 6gd; horse, IDs each. Tallow.—Tins 21s 6d per cwt; casks, 23s per cwt; rough fat, 17s per cwt. Cowhair, 9Jd to Is 4&d. Horsehair. —la 3£d per lb.
