The weather was bright to-day with a fishtail wind, but despite the not too favourable conditions the 800 yards range in the last stage of the King's Prize saw nine possibles recorded, James and Hadfield coming within the list. Clyde scored 49, King and Loveday 48 each.

As the outcome of the first stage Howitt retained the lead with 216, Kefford (Bathurst) being a point behind, while James and Hadfi?ld were close up. In the 900 yards range Howitt reached 258, while James, who was shooting splendidly, made 49, putting him in the lead. Kefford was third, but Hadfield failed with 40, at the 1,000 yards, which ended dismally for some who had done well, but bringing along others whose chance had not given much concern. Crowds surrounded the mounds allotted* to Howitt, James and Ktfford. A possible was put up by Brians, of Queensland, and this brought his total equal with James, who only put -on 36. Then Howitt went to pieces, leaving Kefford ahead.. Roberts, the South Australian, Hill and Alexander,, the latter but a boy, held good positions, at the finish of 900 yards range, and by excellent shooting on the long range made the finish very interesting. Roberts tied with Kefford, while Hill and Alexander scored 298; The shoot-off was a rather hollow victory. Kefford, who looked the cooler man of the two, missed the first three shots. Roberts blazed away rapidly, scoring three-inners and winning the championship.
