Mr W. Coffey has resigned the effice of secretary to the Wellington Brxing Association. Mr Robert Boyne, has been appointed a vaccination inspector for the district of Woodville, vice Mr W. G. Crawford. The appointments of Messrs A. J. R lsherwood, P Keddie. J. B. Lindsay, W. H. McQuaTters and G. H. Wood as inspectors under the Factories Act have been cancelled. Mr A. Snowball, Secretary of the Maaterton Y.M.C.A., received a cablegram from Bobart yesterday moraine conveying the sad news of the death of bis mother, whe, with licr huauam-, was on her way out to New Zeblund frem England. Mr Snowball will have the sympathy of a large circle of friends in his bereavement
Mr C. R. Bayley, J P., of Hawera, died at Rotorua on Tuesday. Mr Bayley, who was about 56 years of age. had been ailing for a couple of months, having been stricken with paralvsis. As a native interpreter, Mr Bayley, who was the son of the Rev. G. Bayley, was one of the most familiar figures on the coast. He came to Taranaki "3 a boy, and lived in the Hawera district for the past thirty years. Captain Pavitt, who was killed in a motor accident, was accorded a full military funeral at Christchurch, yesteiday, there being a large attendance of volunteers and civjliant. The Hon. Mr Buddo telegraphed so the Secretary of the Education Board aa >l lows:—" Deeply regret to hear of Captain, Pavitt's death. He was a k>yal member of the Board's. statf. He will be regretted by.all who knew him. Kindly convey my i>vn pathy to his sorrowing relatives."
