RIFLE SHOOTING.
THE KANDWICK MEETING. Received October 14, 10.10 a.m. SYDNEY, October 14. It is claimed that the number of possibles scored in the King's Match is a world's record. The shooting in all the events has been exceptionally good, with very high averages and several possibles. Besides the first stage of the King's Match, the Sargood (rifle clubs) Match—fifteen shots at 600 yds —was put through, Parramatta winning with 280 out of a possible 300, the Australian Rifles following with 'one point, and three others teams with two points behind. iieceived October 14, 11.45 p m. SYDNEY, October 14. , A glaring light and fishtail wind proved disastrous to many competitors to-day. Skinner, of Victoria won the st cond stage of the King's Match with 67. Seven possibles were scored at the 600 yds ranee. The leading scores of the New Zenlanders were:—Munro and Hadfieltl 62 each and James 61. In the aggregates for the first two stages Howitt is still leading with 168, Muiiro is 11th with 162, James and Hadficld 12th and 13th respectively with 161 each. Duncan has scored 158.
