"SAME OLD STORY."
THE COUK-PEARY CONTROVERSY. STATEMENT BY DR. COOK. y United tress Association—Electric Telegraph Copyright. Received October 14, 9.45 p.m. LONDON, October 14. Dr. Cook has declined to enter into a newspaper controversy in regard to his visit to the North Pole, as he will shortly be submitting proof of his claim to the Danish Geographical Society. Commander Peary's accusations, says Dr. Cook, are the same old story. The Eskimos promised Dr. Cook to give Commander Peary no information Whatever on his (Dr. Cook's) journey, and they kept their word. The evasive replies given by the Eskimos have been twisted to suit perverted interest.
