TENUI NOTES.
From Our Own Correspondent. TENUI, October 11. The funeral of the late Mrs Phillips was the largest ever seen in lenui. Representatives of families from all over the district were present to pay their last respects to one who, ! though practically a stranger amongst us, was held in high esteem by all who had met the deceased ladj. The case from the start has been a sad one. Lriading here last February, a stranger in a strange land, full of energy and expectations of a happy life. But these expectations were never to be fulfilled, as several months of illness followed, only to end m death. The deceased leaves a ; son eighteen weeks old, and a husband to mourn thsir loss. Rev. J. Phillips wishes to thank all kindfriends for their practical sympathy during his late wife's illness, especially the doctor, and also the matron and nurses of the Masterton hospital.
