TWO BOYS IN TROUBLE.

FIVE CHARGES OF THEFT AT GREYTOWN.

Five charges of stealing were brought against two boys named Stanley Rule and Joseph Carr, ag°d about 15 or 16 years, before Mr W. G. Riddell. S.M., at Wellington, yesterday. Thpy were treated as juveni'es. The alleged offences were all committed in Greytown on the one day, and the value of the property taken is set down at £59 The charges are as follow: 1. Stealing a rug, valued at £B, the property of Heria Kaiarua. 2. Stealing a rug, valued at 20s, the property of Alice Mahupuku. 3. Stealing a silver cornet, valued at £2O, the property of Otene Denser. 4. Stealing a pony, valied at £25, the property of Jack Hichards 5. Stealing a saddle and bridlp, valued at £5, the property of Tihi Henare. Chief Detective' Broberg stated that' accused were only arrested on Tuesday night in Wellington. Both were remanded till Saturday in order that further enquiries might be made. It is understood that the two boys belong to Wellington,, and that they had been working in the Greytown district. The allegation is that they 1 took the property last Thursday, and left the next morning They are i said to have covered the distance between Greytown and Wellington on horseback. No time was lost on the journey, Wellington being reached on Friday evening.
