ALLEGED FORGERY OF TELEGRAMS.

At the Magistrate's Court to-day, Hiram Ashcroft, a foundry employee, and Arthur Har.len, a telegraph despatch clerk, both young men, were charged with the fjrgery of telegrams. They pleaded nut gailty. The evidence went to show that by means of bogus telegrams Edvrick Limbrick, a cycle agent doing a betting business, was led to pay sums of £22 18s and £5 to Ashcroft on the results of horse race?, improper use being made of official paper and date stamp. One of the two cases was heard to-day, and both accused were committed to the Supreme Court for trial.
