MASTERTON'S SUBMERGED SHRUBBERY.
To the Editor Sir,—ln viewing the sights of your charming village last Sunday, I was struck with the beauty of your public Park and its game pond. The i originality of the gentlemen whc con • trol the affairs of Masterton is something to be marvelled at, when one views the Park Lake with it submerged shrubbery. I was told that the Lake is used for swimming in. If that is true, in i'.,s present condition, it is nothing more nor less than a death trap. Bathers would be well advised if they took a general survey of the Lake before they took a header, as the most powerful swimmer would be unable to extricate himself from those weeds.—l a ro, etc., WAYBACK.
