WAIRARAPA CRICKET ASSOCIATION.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Wairarapa Criilift Association was hel l on Saturday evening, at Carterton. The anruai report states inter alia: There is a decrease on the credit side to what there was last year. Last year tne Association stood £9 12d 8(1 to credit, including only one outstanding subscription. This year we linve £7 3s 5d to the good, including two outstanding subscriptions. Masterton team had again the honour of securing fuvt place in the championship, and need to be congratulated on the games they played, We are sorry to state that the Junior Championship was unable to be played out, but on the points the honour of securing first place fell to Carterton, who thorough ly deserved their win. The report was adopted.
Ihe foil wing teams Were liorr.inated for the competitions, which are to start 011 Saturday, 16th inst, subject to the approval of the Mas tertun Cricket Council -.—Senior: Mas(erton,» Carlton, United and Carterton. Junior: S. Matthew's, Carterton, United, Mauriceville and Masterton.
Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows President, Mr W. C. Buchanan; Vice-Presidents, Messrs W H. L. Galwey, W. E Bidwill, L. Nix, D. Caselberg, and J. B. Moodie; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr S. R. Edwards; Auditor, Mr C. J. Mackellar; Delegate to New Zealand Cricket Council, Mr J. C. Weston; Selector of representative teams, Mr E. Collinge. The whole of the delegates were appointed a management committee. Considerable discussion took place on the question of classification and it was finally decided to appoint Mr Collingd and the captains of the senior cluDs a classification committee. On the motion of Mr Smart, it was decided thht cup matches he of not less than eight houra' duration each. Messrs Smart, Collinge and Edwards were authorised to draw up the fixtures and will meet to night to do so The members of S. Matthew's Cricket Club and intending members will hold a practice on the Park OvaJ this evening. The management committee of the club will meet at 5.30 p.m. in the schoolroom, to consider the advisability of entering two junior teams for the Wairarapa Cricket Associations' competitions this year.
