BENGOUGH.
Concerning Bengough, the Canadian cartoonist and raconteur, the "Dominion"' says: —The merit of the show is above question. The Canadian, who appeared in Wellington a few weeks ago. demonstrated to large audiences powers to entertain amusingly that are seldom embodied in one person. His line, lacking any weakness, boasts the sajme re fined humour that runs through his cheerful patter, and when he lays down his chalk to give an impersonation, such as "the young lady from the Academy of Dramatic Art, who recites "Barbara Freitchie," there is always matter in hand involving action on the part of the visible faculties. Mr Borneo Gardner whistled artistically Bishop's ballad "Bid Me Discourse," and the popular "Mocking Bird" number, and a clever medley. Mr Claude Allen, who possesses a pleasing tenor voice contfibuted'The Tinker's" Song" and "Betty's Way," and Miss Dora Carroll played a couple sf.se! actions and some incidental music acceptably. Bengough will give r>ne of his unique entertainments here .01 Thursday evening next.
