TRIAL BY JURY.
TO-NIGHT. Encouraged by the success of the Gipsy Camp entertainment, given a few months ago in Masterton, those taking part formed themselves, along with other local talent, into the Masterton Amateur Theatrical Society, and have been practising assiduously for some weeks past at Gilbert and Sullivan's novel and grand cantata "Trial by Jury," he wardrobe of which has been very carefully and tastefully prepared. The whole sc6ne abounds with sweet solo and chorus items. The piece will be staged at the Town flail to-night. Mr Harry Hall has the role of Judge; Mips Eileen J ago, Plaintiff; Mr W. S. Jago, Defendant; Mr W. T. R. Cook, Counsel; Mr W. Iggulden, Usher; and Mr H. Elcoate as Foreman of the Jury. There will be a strong orchestra, consisting of fourteen members, under the baton of Mr G. C. Branson. The first part of the programme consists of well chosen items, incuding two comic, a sketch and three beautifully harmonised choruses. The box plan for to-night is well filled up, and those wishing to book seats should do so at once at Messre Inns and Goddard's, stationers.
