SLIP IN MANAWATU GORGE.
RAILWAY TRAFFIC BLOCKED. By Telegraph—Press Association. PALMEKSTON N., October 5. Very heavy- rains have fallen today, but especially over the Ruahines. In consequence another large slip came down jn the, nuddie of the Mahawaiu Gorge blocking all traffic from 5.30 p.m. • Trains were stopped at Woodville and Ashhurst. Gangs are now at work, and it is hoped to get the line clear to resume railway communication *.o-morrow forenoon.
