Royal Sovereign, 1891—6 in guns; unprotected and soft ends. Majestic, 1895—14,900 tons; speed 17i knot 9; guns 4 12m; brew, 757. Cost £841,000. Duncan, 1901—14,000 tons; faster than Majestic. King Edward VII, 1903—First battleship with the 9.2 in gun; 16,350 tons; speed 18| knots; guns, 4 12in 4 9.2 in, 10 6in; crew, 770. Cost, £1,499,971. Lord Nelson, i9o6—First modern ship without 6in guns; 16,500 tons; speed, 18 knots; guns, 4 12in, 10 &2in; crew, 865. Cost, £654,098. Dieadnought, 1906—First all-big-gun ship; 17,900 tons; speed, 21 knots; guns, 10 12in; crew, 750. Cost £1,813,100. Superb; 1907 —Improved Dreadnought oi 18,600 tons.
