ADVANCES TO SETTLERS AND WORKERS.

By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, October 4. The Pnme Minister states that as the outcome of raising half a million in London for the Advances to Settlers' Department, all arrears of loan applications in the hands of the department have been overcome. There were nearly a thousand applications for loans at the time he sent out the money and the last of them has just been paid. More than one third of the £500,000 has been paid to provide money to enable workers to build their own homes while other sums went to settlers ot the coun'ry for the same purpose.
