LONDON MARKETS.
Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having received ihe following cable messages from their London House, under date of the 30th ult.:— Frozen Meat.—The demand for lamb is fair, and for mutton and beef poor. Quotations are as folows: —New Zealand prime crossbred lamb, Cantarbury, heavy, 3gd; Canterbury light, 2Jd; North Island, heavy 3gd; North Island, light, 3 3-16 d; New Zealand prime cross • bred mutton, Canterbury, heavy, 3|d; Canterbury light, 3sd; North Island, heavy, 3£d; North Island, light, 3£d. The beef market is weaker and lamb and mutton market firm. The unfavourable weather has affected the demand for frozen meat. Quotations in store cannot be realised on the market unless the latter is in an excited state. Do not expect present prices to be maintained, except in the case of beef, prices for which may improve when chilled supplies become lighter. Heavy supplies of Dutch mutton and lamb selling almost as cheap as] frozen. Tallow. — Prices in general are 6d higher. All the offerings were sold.
