Colnel Seely, replying in the House of Commons to Mr Arthur Lynch, said he was aware that there was an objection in Australia to the terms "colonies'" and "colonial," as applied to the Commonwealth and its component parts, but the Colonial Office in all formal communications relating to Australia uses the correct expression, "Commonwealth," or "State^.*'
