"THE BREED OF THE TRESHAMS."

On Tuesday next J. C. Williamson's Company, headed by Mr Julias Knight, will be seen at the Town Hall in a play new to Mastertqn play-goers—"The Breed of the Treshams." Of "The Breed of the Treshams," the "Sydney Morning Herald," writes:—ln dramatic construction and in literary quality, "The Breed of the Treshams" is far noyerior to the average atajre production of the day, and, while that is so, it is perhaps less those characteristica that leave a first impression than the absorbing interest and coherency of the story. The dramatists, B. M. Oix and E. G. Sutherland, are too skilful craftsmen not to conceal their art. It was Mr Knight's fine study of the complex character of Lieut. Reresby, with its masterly revelation of various shades and moods, and subtle touches of pathos and tenderness, upon which the interest of the play centres. Except for a few muments now and again, he was the conspicuous figure in every scene, yet so completely did he identify himself with his part that Jt was Lieut. Reresby, never Mr Julius Knight, who seemed to be present. The box plan was opened yesterday at Miss Rive's, and judging by the excellent advance booking obtained a big attendance on Tuesday evening is assured.
