THE TEST MATCHES.

NOBLE'S LEADERSHIP EULOGISED. A FAMOUS BOWLER'S VIEWS. Received September 23. 8.20 a.m. LONDON, September 22. Mr R. Spofforth, in an artirle in "Bailey's Magazine" on the Außtra-lia-England test matches, said there probably never waß a team better skippered than this year's team by Noble. The way in which he used the fast bowler was as near perfection as could be.

England, says Mr Spofforth, had better cricketers as far as bowling and batting were concerned, but the Australians were better led, and played nearer their true form. They were far ahead of England in ground fielding, catching, running, and throwing, besides placing in the field, and made a much better combination.
