GEODETIC ASSOCIATION.
AN INTERNATIONAL GATHERING. Received September 23, 8.20 a.m. LONDON, September 22. Mr Haldane, Secretary for War, opened the triennial conference of the International Geodetic Association, and welcomed the Geodesists on behalf of the Government. Mr G. H. Knibbs, Commonwealth Statistician, is representing Australia at the gathering. Sir George Darwin, on behalf of the Royal Society, stated that Australian and Canadian surveyors endorsed the importance of the British Government's support, and added that Australia had already done much good work.
