Clemenceau's decision to end public lotteries, ex cept municipal bonds and credit foncior (real estate) issuas, the Premier (M. Briand) has authorised a gigantic final lottery ol 2,150,000 tickets at 20 francs (rather over 153) apiece. Six prizes of £40,000 sterling will be offered. The net proceeds, amounting to £1,244,000 sterling, will be divided among the twenty-seven charities which are now permitted to issue lotteries.
