LONDON MARKETS.
Messrs Daigety and Company, Limited, report having received the following cable messages from their London house, under date of the ltfth instant:—Tallow.—Mutton unchanged ; other descriptions 3d to 6d ower. Frozen Meat. —The beef market is weak, and prices ire l-16d lower. The market for mutton is firm and prices are from Id to gd higher. Arrivals are less than ex pectad, especially New Zealand North Island, but considerable advance unlikely owing to large supply of lambs. Prices for lamb are unchanged, except heavy descriptions, which are from id to §d higher. Sheepskins.—Merino fine crossbred combing skins are Id higher, crossbred coarse and medium combiner skins |d higher, and clothing skins £d to gd higher. Wool.—Dates of our own sales are :—22nd September, 27th September, and Ist October. Market very firm. We expect a rise in prices at the next series for fine crossbreds and merinos of 5 per to 10 per cent, and for coarse crossbreds from par to 5 per cent. Prices at Antwerp sales, as compared with laßt Antwerp sales, for wools generally are 7J per cent, higher.
