The Collingwood team, which was leading at half-time, after being oxygened, was easily deteated by the non-oxygened South Melbourne team in the final league match. A cable 'message from Adelaide, received ten days ago, stated that experiments had been tried in administering oxygen to pumped-out footballers at half-time with marvellous effects. A team which had played hard in the first spell went back free, fresh and vigorous.
