HIGH COMMISSIONER'S BILL.

Received September 17,10.20 a.m. MELBOURNE, Sept. 17. The High Commissioner's Bill has passed the Committee stages in the Federal House. The salary attached to the office was fixed at £3.000 per annum, with an allowance of £2,000 for an official residence. The proceedings were heased, the Opposition strongly resenting the Government's further application of the closure.
