NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIP.

The New Zealand G oil: Championship meeting at Cornwall Park links was advanced another stage to-day, when the third round and semi finals of the Amateur Championship were played. I Some very exciting matches took place, notably that between J. C. Burns and W. B. Colbeck, both of Auckland, in the serai-final match. It was not won until two extra rounds were played. The general impression is that Duncan will beat Burns in the final of the Amateur Championship to-morrow. . J. A. Clements, of Wanganui, and F. G. Hood, ut Auckland, will get in tthe final of the Professional Championship to-morrow. A Driving Competition to-day was won by C. E. Kusabs, who drove the ball 255 yards. The approachiog and putting cow petition was won by E. D. O'Rorke, I who holed in 2 from a distance of 140 yards. The prizes won during the meeting wil'i be presented by Lady Plunket to-morrow afternoon. The tie in the Second Medal Handicap between A. N. Barraud, of Manawatu, and H. C. Tonks. of Auckland, was played off this morning, resulting in a win for Barraud. The following is the result of the third round of the match play for the • Amateur Championship:— J. C. Bidwill beat A. J. Abbott 1 up at the 19th hole. A. Duncan beat J. Forbes, 2up and I to play. J. C. Burns beat J. Harold, 3 up . and Ito play. , W. B. Colbeck beat H. T. Gillies, » 3up and 2to play. The semi-finals resulted:—A. Dun ' can beat J. C. Bidwill, 3up and 2 ti } play; J. C. Burns b?at W. B. Col \ beck, 1 up at the 20th hole. Duncan and Burns will meet in th J final. ■
