WEDDING.

O'LOUGHLIN—WATERS

A very pretty wedding was solemnised ac the residence of the bride's parents, Carterton, yesterday afternoon, when Mr Joseph O'Loughlin, fourth son of Mr John O'Loughlin, of Blarney, New South Wales, was married to Miss Emma Waters, sixth daughter of Mr Herbert Waters, of Carterton'. The bride, who waß given away by her father, looked charming in a tailor-made costume of navy blue, with creme silk blouse, and wore a blue satin hat. She carried a Bible, and was attended by her sibte'-s, Miss Ivy and Mabel Waters, as bridesmaids, both of whom were dressed in creme silk muslin, trimmed with Valenciennes lace, and wore white satin Merry Widow hats. Both carried handsome bouquets. Mr J. Vnse was bHst man, and Mr J. Waters was groomsman, the ceremony being perforintd by the Rev. Lawrence Thompson, of St. Andrew's Church. The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a valuable gold pendant, and to each of the bridesmaids he gave gold brooches. The bride presented the 1 bridegroom with a silver-mouned dressing case. After the ceremony a large number of guests, including the Rev. and Mrs Thopmson, sat down to the wedding breakfast, when the usual toasts we.ie duly honoured, that of the bride and bridegroom being proposed by the Rev. Thompson. , Mr and Mrs O'Loughlin, who were the recipients of numerous presents, left for the North by the evening express on their honeymoon tour, and will later take up their residence at Greymouth. In honour of the event Mr and Mrs Waters entertained a number of friends at a social in the Clareville Hail last evening.
