Commanchr Peary's Polar expedi ■ tion, in the steamer Roosevelt, leaves Battle Harbour, Labrador, on Saturday for Sydney, Nova Scotia. Fifty reporters are awaiting the party's return. PARTY AT THE POLE. Received September 15, 8.5 a.m. NEW YORK, September 14. A telegram from Battle Harbour brings the statement, derived from members ol the expedition, who were on board the Roisevelt, that Commander Peary and one Eskimo alone reached the North Pole.

A SEARCH FOR RECORDS
Received September 15, 8.5 a.m. NEW YORK, September 1,4. Dr. Cook stated that he entrusted tome notes of his observations to Mr Casper Whitney, who was on a sporting expedition in Greenland. Peary telegraphs that he has no knowledge of Dr. Cook having given Whitney any records There are no jCook records on the Roosevelt.
QUESTION OF OWNERSHIP.
Received September 15, 8.5 a.m. OTTAWA, September 14. . Sir Wilfrid Laurier. Prime Minister of Canada, demands,, all the territory batween the North American boundary and the North Pole, as the recognised hinterland of Canada.
"DR. COOK NEVER REACHED THE POLE."
PEARY HAS CONCRETE PROOF.
Received September 15, 11 p.m. NEW YOriK, September 15. Commander Peary has declared that he has concrete proof that Dr. Cook never reached the Pole. He awaits Dr Cook's statement before replying. He adds that the whole facts will probably be known shortly.
